New member to the forum so I thought I'd post a project we've done recently.

The new restuarant in town was going for the WOW factor on the architecture and one of the features was a 6 ft dia jelly fish aquarium. At the top of the aquarium they wanted a round crown. 10 foot diameter and 2 foot tall.

Oh yeah, they have to be removable so we can service the fishtank.

Here's what we came up with.

One of the most fun project we ever worked on.

Amazing work Brian! I love how crisp it is! How many hours did it take to machine all the parts? I used to build architectural models of shopping centers and malls, so I love this kind of thing!
Thanks for posting!

That is awesome. What sort of finish did you use? It looks like it may be hardcoated with an epoxy?

Thanks for the comments

Jamie - It took about 2 days of machining parts. There is a lot of pieces but they repeat 4 times.

Darren - We coated the EPS with StyroCoat. I know others don't care for it but if you get the humidity up it works great. Our redneck humidifier was a yard mister in front of a shop fan. Got the humidity up to about 50% pretty fast.
