For the last 20 years I have struggled with workpiece holdown methods.

I have used vertical clamps, horizontal clamps, vacuum, screws and double sided tape. I am still looking for the optimum method.

What are your favorite workpiece hold down methods?

I have only used one method.  I cut pockets all over my sacrifice board and inserted t-tracks and use the clamps that I got from Rockler.  I elevate the work piece on rubber gasket material so when you do the profile cut out,  It doesn't cut to deep into the sacrifice board.  So far it works fine.

We use vacuum in our shop exclusively with no problem.  It is a very powerful vacuum that works well.
